Tech giants like Facebook and Google have been making a name for themselves by providing search engines with billions of users and millions of ads a day.
But they’ve also taken a heavy toll on democracy in some countries, including the U.S. It’s a big change from the early days of Facebook and the way people use Google.
It means that Facebook and other big tech companies are able to influence elections in ways that governments can’t.
But for now, it’s only just beginning.
