Tech giants including Microsoft, Google and Amazon unveiled hardware and software innovations during the New York International Auto Show on Monday.
Here’s what you need to know about what you’ll find at the event, including the latest in smartphone hardware, new technologies for drones and virtual reality.
For the first time, Apple will be bringing hardware to the show, a significant step toward its plans to compete with Google and other technology companies.
The company will debut a range of new products including the iPhone 5s, a new iPad, a larger iPad Pro and the iPad Mini, along with its new App Store.
Apple will also announce new software, including an app called Apple Music that will let users listen to music from artists and music publishers.
The software will be free to download from Apple Music, and Apple will also offer its music service to third-party music apps.
Microsoft has introduced a number of new features for the Windows 10 operating system, including a new version of the Xbox app and a new way to access games from the Xbox.
While Apple is in its own territory with hardware, Microsoft has had to be patient in its introduction of the Surface Pro tablet.
In contrast to its competitor, Amazon is making its own devices.
Its $999 Amazon Fire tablet is powered by the latest version of Windows 10, with a 12.5-inch screen, a processor from Intel, and a battery of up to 5 hours.
The new Fire Pro and Pro 2, the larger and more expensive version, use a Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM.
The Fire Pro 3, the smaller and cheaper Pro 2 is powered with a more powerful ARM processor, and is only available in the United States.
As the new Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is launched, there are new rumors surfacing that suggest Microsoft is looking to launch a larger version of its own Surface line of devices, perhaps as soon as this fall.
With a price tag of $1,499, the Surface 4 Pro is expected to be slightly bigger than the original Surface Pro, which sold for $1.99.
Windows 10 will be available to new customers starting in October.
